About the Artist
I grew up in Chester County, PA, attended Archbishop Carroll
High School in Radnor, PA, and received a BA from Temple
University in 1977. I worked in the graphic design field in
Philadelphia for a number of years. In 1992 I left a position as
an account executive with Art Spikol, Inc., to pursue portraits.
I live in Voorhees, NJ, with my husband, Jeff. My two children
are pursuing their own interests; Daniel in physics and math at
RPI and Laura in psychology and philosophy at Virginia Tech.
Plate Finish Portraits
Plate Finish portraits are created on Strathmore Bristol 500
Series, 4 ply, Plate Finish paper which is acid-free and is made
from 100% cotton fiber. Plate finish is a remarkably smooth
surface which picks up the subtlest tones.
Regular Finish Portraits
Regular Finish portraits are created on Strathmore Bristol 500
Series, 4 ply, Regular Finish which is also acid free and is made
from 100% cotton fiber. Regular finish has more tooth which
results in richer black tones.
Reference Material
I work from photographs which I prefer to take myself when
possible. I also prefer working from color images and always
want the earliest generation of the image; the original negative if
film was used or an unaltered digital file, the larger the file the
better. The quality of the final portrait is directly affected by the
quality of the reference material.
Time Frame
I am usually booked two to three months in advance. A 50%
deposit is due with the reference material. Christmas is my
busiest season, if you are interested in a portrait for the winter
holidays please contact me well in advance.
